PE and School Sport
at Hallcroft Infant and Nursery School
At Hallcroft Infant and Nursery School we want our children enjoy a range of sporting activities. We aim to develop a love of sport and the desire to live a healthy lifestyle. We are also working towards, through staff CPD, the capacity for high quality sport and PE teaching in future years which is highlighted in our Evidencing the Impact of the School Sports Premium Document.
We aim to broaden the children’s range of sporting experiences both in and after school by providing clubs such as multi-skills, football, cricket and rugby. We have also been on visits to Retford Gymnastics Club and to multi-skills and dance festivals at the Elizabethan Academy. Our Year 2 children also take part in swimming lessons in the spring and summer terms.
Our full time children take part in a "Daily Mile" where they all run on our new running track every day. This has not only helped them increase their stamina and fitness levels but has also helped them work harder in their next session. (Due to the school's closure to most pupils during 2019/2020 during the Covid pandemic there is no data for the end of this academic year)
The children in Year 2 swim weekly in the spring and summer terms. The children really benefit from these sessions and have lots of fun. They also make lots of progress and gain lots of swimming badges.
Elizabethan Collaboration Dance Festival
We have enjoyed taking part in opportunities created by the Elizabethan Family Collaboration such as Dance Festivals which were attended by our full time children.
Gymnastics fun at Retford Gymnastics Club
We attended a Gymnastics Festival at Retford Gymnastics Club. We had a brilliant time and went on some very exciting apparatus!
Elizabethan Collaboration Multi-Skills Festival
Our full time children in Year 1 and 2 had a fantastic time taking part in the Elizabethan Collaboration Multi-Skills festival at the Elizabethan Academy.
